Ballot no. 13
DKP
Deutsche Kommunistische Partei
Standing statewide
About the party
The DKP was formed in 1968 and, given its continuity in people and ideas, is regarded as the successor of the KPD, banned in 1956. It sees itself as the party of the working class and aims for a socialist order as a transition to a communist society; the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution classifies it as left-wing extremist and monitors it. Its results since reunification have mostly been up to 0.1%; it has stood in several Berlin elections.

The same six themes and the same template as on the Berlin-agenda page: the party’s own chapter title, a neutral summary of that chapter, and a link into the original.
Housing & rent
All parties on this theme →Vergesellschaften und bauen! ↗web page
Blames the shortage on privatisation — nearly 320,000 formerly public flats sold since 1990 — and on reliance on private investors. Three pillars: immediate relief through a ban on evictions, a politically set rent cap and confiscation of the roughly 40,000 long-term vacant flats; expropriation of the large housing companies without compensation; and a large municipal building programme, to be financed by stopping military spending.
Transport & mobility
All parties on this theme →Berliner Nahverkehr – die Bevölkerung zahlt die Rechnung für Sparpolitik und Kriegskurs ↗web page
Attributes the state of the BVG and S-Bahn to decades of austerity and privatisation attempts. Demands that money planned for rearmament and the A100 extension go to buses and trains — vehicles, workshops, staff, infrastructure — with better pay for transport workers; the S-Bahn fully in public hands with no further outsourcing; and, as the long-term goal, fare-free public transport financed from public funds.
