About the party
Die Urbane. Eine HipHop Partei was founded in Berlin in 2017 by hip-hop activists and now has five state branches. It describes itself as anti-colonial and critical of power, opposes racism and other forms of discrimination, and holds positions to the left of the political mainstream, drawing on the emancipatory roots of hip-hop to represent marginalised groups. It ran in the 2017 and 2021 federal elections; it has no separate programme for this Berlin election and refers to its general programme.

Positions by theme
The same six themes and the same template as on the Berlin-agenda page: the party’s own chapter title, a neutral summary of that chapter, and a link into the original.
Housing & rent
All parties on this theme →Wohnen | Leben | Versorgung ↗web page
Land is "not an arbitrary commodity": a nationwide rent cap until the market stops disadvantaging anyone, all collective shelters closed because enough housing exists to house everyone who is homeless, flats left empty for more than three months socialised and let by the municipality, anti-discrimination offices for housing with power to sanction, and allocation by intersectional criteria (children, accessibility, proximity to school and doctors). Backs "Deutsche Wohnen & Co. enteignen" in full — companies with over 3,000 flats expropriated well below market value into a public-law institution. Every building to be surveyed for accessibility within two years; new builds barrier-free, accessibility over heritage protection.
Transport & mobility
All parties on this theme →Verkehr & Öffentlicher Raum ↗web page
Public transport and rail travel should be free of charge, funded from CO₂, inheritance and wealth taxes; all offences for riding without a ticket abolished with a retroactive amnesty. Multilingual, discrimination-aware "support teams" instead of security and ticket inspectors on stations and trains, a barrier-free public realm with guidance systems by 2025, more zebra crossings, participatory debate on car-free zones and cycle streets, renaming streets with colonial names, and a 130 km/h motorway limit.
Migration & participation
All parties on this theme →Bewegungsfreiheit ↗web page
"Freedom of movement as a human right": border and visa regimes should be abolished or redesigned to end what the party calls a racist global inequality. Frontex should be shut down immediately and its ~€22bn redirected to education and culture cooperation, all sea rescue enabled, pushbacks investigated as murder, camps at the EU's external borders evacuated, the Dublin rules suspended and the EU–Turkey deal ended. In Germany all undocumented people should be legalised with full rights — and as permanent residents receive the right to vote.
Climate & energy
All parties on this theme →Klimagerechtigkeit und Umwelt, Energie und Nachhaltigkeit ↗web page
Frames the climate emergency as a colonial and racist legacy: "anti-colonial politics is climate protection". Net zero within one legislative term (four years), coal exit within the term, all fossil subsidies stopped immediately, arms factories converted to wind and solar production, a law banning environmentally harmful energy with heavy fines, a €300/t carbon price (€180 for renewables, €120 into an anti-colonial reparations fund), an end to industrial livestock farming within the term, and an ecocide law.
Education
All parties on this theme →Bildung & Bildungsgerechtigkeit ↗web page
"Throw overboard everything we know about education": abolish the tiered school system as the engine of social inequality, abolish grades in favour of appreciative feedback, end the separation of disabled and non-disabled children, much smaller classes, dissolve the subject structure and timetable clusters, schools open almost all day, an education account for every person inversely proportional to wealth, BIPoC/FLINTA*/disability/LGBTQIA+ quotas for staff, decolonial and anti-racist teacher training and materials, sign language and Braille for all, HipHop culture in the curriculum, school gardens, meditation, consent-based sex education.
